Vivo Systems is a Software & Web development company. For the past 18 months we have been developing software for the AndroidTM platform. We have our own applications on the AndroidTM Market and a couple more in development for clients and the general public.
The mobile market is exploding, and we're keen to get in on the action. In the coming months we are starting new and exciting projects on the AndroidTM platform which will then be ported to the iPhone and iPad. During this time we will start to offer iPhone and iPad development outsourcing. We're also keen to capitalise on the emerging tablet market, not just the iPad which will only be a piece of the market, but more interestingly the tablets which are developed on the AndroidTM platform.
Android
2010 promises to be an exciting year for the mobile market and the open source AndroidTM platform. From the end of 2009 to May 2010, the AndroidTM market share rose from 2.7% to 7.8% and it's only increasing, there are loads of devices now supporting AndroidTM from the powerful Nexus One and HTC Desire to the older HTC Magic, Google is also "reportedly" launching an AndroidTM powered set top box at the end of May 2010 with applications much like the current market.
AndroidTM provides a familiar syntax to many software developers being based Sun Microsystems Java but rather than use the Java VM, Google and the Open Handset Alliance have created their own, called Dalvik, which is optimised for mobile devices. Google have provided a plug-in for a commonly used and freely available IDE called Eclipse and an AndroidTM SDK. With all this in mind, we decided to go for it.
Vivo Systems is developing AndroidTM applications to help people with their lives. Some of the applications which will be written will support our core businesses applications, others will be for entertainment, lifestyle and so fourth.
All our applications will be available through the AndroidTM Market at minimum expense. We will also be available for questions, queries and problems via e-mail at android@vivosystems.co.uk, we will also be creating a forum in the near future.
